The patent-pending MultiRest™ Wood Lathe Steady Rest, proudly Made in the USA, is engineered to deliver unmatched stability and versatility for woodturners of all skill levels. Designed to fit mini lathes up to 20” swing with no additional hardware required, the MultiRest™ adapts quickly to a wide range of lathe sizes and turning applications.

Universal Fit for Most Lathes

The MultiRest™ features independently adjustable spacer blocks that securely mount to lathe beds with way sizes from 1” to 4.5” wide. Each roller wheel assembly can be positioned anywhere around the ring, allowing you to precisely center your workpiece for different diameters and lathe configurations.

2-in-1 Design for Maximum Flexibility

The innovative two-piece design allows you to quickly open the steady rest while keeping the base firmly mounted to your lathe. This makes mounting, sanding, shaping, and repositioning your work faster and easier.

When separated, the lower portion functions as a bowl rest, giving you solid backside support while keeping the front of your workpiece fully exposed for cutting operations—something traditional steady rests can’t offer.

Lightweight Strength with Industrial Durability

Built with a multi-ring structure, the MultiRest™ provides exceptional rigidity while weighing significantly less than comparable full steel steady rests. Constructed from laser-cut steel and aircraft-grade aluminum, it delivers long-lasting durability without unnecessary bulk.

Non-Marring Urethane Wheels with Precision Bearings

Each bearing-mounted urethane wheel is designed with a reinforced internal ring to prevent flex, ensuring consistent support without damaging your workpiece. Unlike standard skate-style wheels, the MultiRest™ uses industrial sealed bearings—the same trusted technology used in Carter’s bandsaw guide systems.

The system includes three wheel assemblies (ideal for most applications), and uniquely allows you to add additional wheels for increased support—configurable to 3, 4, 6, or more wheels depending on your project needs.

Capacity & Sizing

The MultiRest™ supports workpieces up to 12” in diameter on a 20” swing lathe.
The MultiRest™ XL supports up to 18” diameter on a 24” swing lathe.
