Perfect Sphere (head only)

This is the head only for adding The Perfect Sphere™ to your existing Perfect Hollower system. This kit comes with the head unit, cutting bar and cutter. You will need to add the correct riser stud to use the system. Click here to view the available riser studs.

The patent pending Perfect Sphere™ Tool is a sphere and concave turning system adaptable to most lathes on the market. Now each system comes standard with the previously optional Pro-Bar with 6mm cutter. The heavy duty construction and flexible configuration allow you to turn spheres from 1 inch to 14 inches in diameter on most lathes from 10" to 25". A 6mm carbide cutter provided with each system enables the tool a to cut the material versus a standard scraper which provides for a smooth cut and long lasting cutter head.

The only part that is lathe specific is the riser post which is available to fit lathes from 10" to 24/25" and unless previously purchased, must be purchased with Perfect Sphere to operate. The riser post is based on lathe swing height (lathe size) and has nothing to do with the diameter of the sphere you want to turn. Due to the mounting height the largest diameter sphere you will be able to turn is your lathe swing height minus 4". Example for a 12" lathe your max sphere would be 8" diameter sphere. If you don't see your swing height indicated in the stud options please contact Carter as a custom stud may be available. You can also purchase other riser studs in the Perfect Sphere section if you have or use multiple lathes.
